Habitat:
American cockroaches prefer warm, moist areas such as basements, crawl spaces, sewer systems, and boiler rooms. They may enter homes through drains or foundation gaps. Outdoor populations often migrate indoors during extreme weather.

They carry bacteria and pathogens from unsanitary environments. Their presence indicates moisture or sanitation issues. Large infestations can spread quickly through multi-unit buildings.
Control Measures:
Moisture control and exclusion are essential. Professional perimeter treatments and targeted interior applications are most effective. Drain and sewer management may be required.
