Characteristics: Black body with white chin; excellent climber
Habitat:
Common in barns, attics, woodlands, and farmlands. Often found near rodent populations. Frequently enters structures.
Threats & Dangers:
Non-venomous and beneficial for rodent control. Can be intimidating due to size. May bite if handled.
Control Measures:
Exclusion and sealing entry points are effective. Removing rodent attractants reduces presence. Humane relocation may be used.
