Habitat:
Breeds in ponds, swamps, and slow-moving water. Found more often in rural and wetland areas. Less common in urban settings.

Threats & Dangers:
Historically linked to malaria transmission in the U.S. Can still transmit certain pathogens. Bites mainly at night.

Control Measures:
Wetland management and larval control reduce populations. Professional mosquito control is effective near water sources. Nighttime protection is advised.
