Northern Water Snake

Size: 24–36 inches
Characteristics: Tan to copper body with dark hourglass-shaped bands

Habitat:
Copperheads prefer wooded areas, rocky hillsides, and forest edges. They often hide under leaf litter, logs, and debris. Common near homes bordering woods.

Threats & Dangers:
Venomous bites can cause pain, swelling, and tissue damage. Bites usually occur when the snake is accidentally stepped on or disturbed. Medical attention is required.

Control Measures:
